Bio: From birth, Pharaoh Atem was trained for the day he would inherit the throne when his father, Pharaoh Akhnumkanun, died. Growing up, Prince Atem didn't always attend to his duties, sometimes preferring to play hide and seek with his friend Mana, hiding in the large vases around the palace. As he got older, Prince Atem would sometimes sneak out of the palace and travel around Waset, seeing how the ordinary people lived.

At the tender age of 13, his father took ill and died, leaving Atem to inherit his Millennium Pendant and his throne. For the next four years, Atem ruled Egypt. One day though, a man with white hair showed up, dragging Akhnumkanun's mummy with him, and challenged Atem right in his own throne room. Thus began a war that would end with Pharaoh Atem sealing his memories into the Pendant, then shattering it in a last bid to save the ancient world. 

After that, 3,000 years passed in darkness, with no awareness of anything at all. This all changed when a young boy by the name of Yugi, who bore a strange resemblance to Pharaoh Atem, rebuilt the Pendant, now a Puzzle, releasing Atem's soul, albeit stripped of his memories and identity. He is Yugi, isn't he?!

Personality: Pharaoh Atem is shown to be very kind, to the point of altruistic. He doesn't truly believe that a Pharaoh is a god, nor that he is above other people. Instead he believes it's a king's duty to look after his people and lead his troops into battle, rather than staying holed up in the palace. Pharaoh Atem is very fierce toward anyone who would harm his family, friends, or subjects, and will not hesitate to release his full power against his enemies.
