Favorite Duel Monsters Cards: Red Eyes Black Dragon, Gearfried the Iron Knight, Baby Dragon, Time Wizard, Jinzo, Legendary Fisherman
Bio: When we first meet Jounouchi Katsuya, he is quite the bully to Yugi. He sees Yugi's small size and quiet personality as weakness and considers Yugi childish and effeminate. He even goes so far as to swipe Yugi's treasure box, take out the Eye of Wadjet puzzle piece, and toss it out an upper story window into the swimming pool. Jou rethinks his opinion of Yugi after seeing Yugi get beaten up while defending him from another kid who was an even bigger bully.
Personality: At first glance, Jounouchi seems to be rough and tough and hard as nails. Just as comfortable using his fists to get out of a situation as his words, he is a force to be reckoned with on the streets. However, if you peel back the tough veneer, you'll find a heart of gold beating underneath. Once he considers you a friend, Jou will do anything to help or protect you, even if it means getting bruised and bloodied all over.
When Jou hears about Duel Monsters, he gains a new purpose in life: to be a real duelist on the same level as Mutou Yugi and Kaiba Seto, and nothing will stop him from achieving that important goal!
Thoughts: I adore Jou. Not only is he great comedy relief, he's also the perfect stereotype of the loudmouth pugnacious sidekick with the heart of gold. He's the Sanosuke to Yugi's Kenshin. When the chips are down, Jou is the one who will be there to see you through thick and thin. Truly a loyal golden retriever!
